Ashlee is a freelance illustrator currently living & working in Dorset, UK.
Having grown up in a rural village, she continued to study in her home county, undertaking a BA in Illustration at the Arts University Bournemouth & graduating in 2016. Ashlee specialises in the children’s market, creating picture books & illustrations for Art Licensing. She loves incorporating lots of little details in her illustrations, working within pastel colour palettes & creating adorable characters.
Ashlee’s passion for drawing developed at an early age & was inspired by the artwork in picture books and comics such as Calvin & Hobbes. One of her earliest creative memories is practising her drawing skills by copying the artwork on the front of Disney VHS boxes with her Dad.
Some of her clients include Penguin Random House Australia, Quarto, Paperchase, Owlet Press, Character Select Agency and BBC Scotland.
Having previously worked as an Art Technician within a school, she now often delivers illustration based workshops to all ages, and is keen to encourage a younger generation of creatives.
When she's not doodling away, Ashlee is happiest outside; immersing herself in nature, exploring new places in the sunshine & preferably next to a water source - much alike the growing collection of plants in her little garden.
She also loves to travel, collecting experiences & mementos from trips, which help to inspire the work that she creates.
I'm currently available for commissions & would love to hear from you!
